Fond Land Rover Memories

I was just reading Thomas's musings about driving Landrovers offroad, and it brought back a few fond memories from my childhood. My parents had a long range Desert Land Rover (I think) and it went anywhere it was pointed around the farm and pulled horseboxes into muddy fields quite happily. Of course back then if you wanted 4 wheel drive you had to get out and turn the thingy (technical term) on the front wheels.

Not like the Landrovers of today. Landyzone, a most excellent UK Land Rover forum, has plenty of ideas and advice on how to get the best out of your Landy, whatever you drive. Landrover Owner International magazine is also a great resource for Land Rover fans everywhere.
